2026 Summer Season
The objective of this league is to provide a fun opportunity for girls to learn the fundamentals of fastpitch softball (e.g. throwing, hitting, fielding, and the value of teamwork and sportsmanship). The focus for travel ball is to play competitive softball with a focus on player engagement, development and teamwork while fostering a passion for the game.
2026-2027 ERYSA Season
As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 season, the Elk River Youth Softball Association is excited to share several upcoming program changes designed to strengthen the experience for our players, families, and coaches.
- Beginning August 1, 2026, our program will be taking steps to create more consistency across age levels, improve player development, and provide a more connected experience from fall through winter and into the spring/summer season.
One of the biggest changes will be moving official team placement tryouts to the fall following the spring/summer season. This will allow teams to be formed earlier, give coaches more time to build relationships with players, and help families have greater clarity heading into the full softball year.
- A major intent of the updated team formation model is to create greater parity across teams within each age group. Rather than creating large talent gaps between teams, the goal is to form more balanced rosters that allow more players to compete in meaningful situations, develop at a strong pace, and contribute to their team’s success. We believe this will help increase overall competition, improve player confidence, and create a better developmental experience across the entire age group.
- If registration numbers support or require a third team within an age bracket, the program may form one developmental team. This would only occur when participation numbers make an additional team necessary. In that situation, the developmental team would provide an appropriate opportunity for players who may benefit from additional growth, confidence-building, and game experience, while the remaining teams would be structured with parity and competitive balance in mind.
- Winter development will also become more closely connected to each age group, with assigned coaches helping lead player development throughout the offseason. This will allow athletes to receive more consistent instruction and help build stronger relationships between players and coaches while not being restrictive to players who are multi-sport athletes.
How tryouts and registration fees will work:
- Everyone will tryout no matter if they are just doing fall season, or spring season, or both seasons. This tryout is in early early Aug (which has typically been labeled fall tryouts).
- This score will allow the coaches to build teams based on seasons the girls want to play. Once you are placed on a team you will get an invitation to that team.
- You will pay for the (Fall Season) if that is the season you are playing on first.
- In March you will get another invitation after those teams are formed and this is where you will also pay for the (Spring/Summer Season).
